Who we are

The Australian Magnetic Resonance Imaging Association promotes the appropriate utilisation of MRI as a first line imaging modality, and promotes high professional standards and practice within the MRI industry in Australia.

 

 

Our Vision, Our Purpose:

To advance the professional practice and scientific study of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and enhance the standards and contribution of Magnetic Resonance Imaging to the community by:

  • Promoting the development of local, national and international policy and practice.
  • Promoting new and innovative approaches to applications of MRI.
  • Leading and engaging in research and learnings related to the disciplines and practice of MRI.
  • Promoting the dissemination of knowledge through meetings, lectures, professional contacts, papers, reports, discussion and publications; and providing a national forum for discussion of matters of interest to members

To keep a Register of Members, qualifications and particulars of their professional experience and appointments.

Professionalism, Development & Networking

To establish, maintain and promote professional safety standards for MRI practitioners by:

  • Promoting high standards of professional ethics, competence, conduct, education, qualifications and achievements amongst MRI practitioners
  • Promoting and encouraging contact, communication and support amongst MRI practitioners
  • Participation in, development and promotion of continuing professional development (CPD) for MRI practitioners and other persons engaged in the practice and research of MRI

Advocacy

  • To increase public understanding of the role of Magnetic Resonance Imaging
  • To lobby government bodies to maintain or introduce policies or procedures which ensure the proper and reasonable delivery of services to meet the need of patients
  • To be an advocate for MRI to all other imaging provider organisations and cooperate with these organisations for the provision of accessible high-quality MRI services
  • To print, publish and circulate and to sell, lend, issue, and distribute any papers, books, pamphlets, leaflets or communication made to the Association that AAMRP may think desirable for the promotion of its objectives
